The toyhouse color palette thread that I mentioned in my previous post is doing a collab event! This is my part.
The idea was to redraw a stereotypical cowboy pose, but with the horse being an mlp oc. I originally intended to draw both the pony and the rider, but then thought having someone else draw half would be more fun (and easier lol). So I collabed with another artist to draw their oc as the cowboy! I feel kinda weird posting art where 50% of it wasn't done by me, so I guess you're gonna have to check out the thread to see the finished drawing :)
The downside is that just the horse with no rider looks super awkward. This is definitely one of those drawings that needs context to make sense/look good.

Also, I hate monochrome so much man. I would've never chosen to work with this palette if not for the collab. Everything just blurs into eachother so easily. At some point I just ran out of colors, so the character is missing details, there's only one light source, and the lined parts are straight up unshaded. If there were more hues I think it could be salvageable, but it's just brown. It's not even a good color!
For what it's worth, I do think the finished pic will still look good. It just did not feel good drawing it.
