this piece was inspired by one of my favorite holiday stories growing up, stone soup! the version I remember involves three brothers that travel into a town. it's winter, and everyone is hungry but nobody wants to share! so the brothers start making 'stone soup' and everyone is like brother you can't eat a stone, here have some of my carrots, my potatoes and suddenly everyone is giving things away to make a wonderful meal together. i tried to capture the same chaos in this image!
