Demons, in the world of Pathfinder, are made up of the souls of sinful humanoids upon death. Archons are made of the souls of righteous mortals.
It is a tragic thing when a righteous mortal, who spent their life fighting to preserve a measure of peace for their nation and armies, ends up falling to sin in their later years. Betrayal from outside forces, misplaced trust, and trickery are little excuse in the eyes of Final Judgement.
Alvalyja was a great general in ancient Thassilon, in the early years of the empire, but circumstances of the nation's corruption reached her, leading to her becoming consumed by rage and need for revenge for loved ones lost. She became a powerful, and terrible, nascent demon lord upon death, in the form of a vrock; a vulture demon of Wrath.
Seeing what could have been, had she not fallen so far, is quite the sad experience. Her afterlife could have been spent with the honor her mortal life had been, reunited with those she lost...
If only she had not allowed herself to fall so far.
Now, she is the eidolon of Zahra Baenre, and perhaps she can use this as an opportunity to leave behind her sins and finally regain a righteous purpose once more. Perhaps if she does enough.. could she know the warmth of Heaven at last?
