I have been disliking how I draw canines the past year or so, and it was about time I actually sat down and did something about it!
It's such a weird feeling to dislike the look and process of something that has been a comfort to draw for over a decade,, Having to take a step back to the simple studies of shapes and lines has been something I've avoided for months now. Mainly because I was truly worried that doing these baseline studies would make no difference to the way my hand has done things for such a long time. I dare say though, this result is something I am much more happy with than any canine I have drawn this year..
A relief even, that I have throughout the years gained a clearer understanding of shapes and anatomy, which in turn makes studies much quicker to do. I'm just glad it turned out to be a worthwhile skill rather than something working against me.
