Amos' access to the Lost Sea, means sometimes his timeline isn't so much of a line and more a suggestion as the Lost Sea is where many lost things are found and sometimes the things that are lost can be moments in time... Leading us to the time the pirate found himself hundreds of years before his time at history's greatest loss to learning: the burning of the Great Library of Moggymandria and today's character, Lye.
After finding Amos and his crew at the burning trove of knowledge, Lye ran out to them, begging them to help her. She was the head librarian's daughter and she needed them to help save the knowledge her Father loved so much. Luckily, while not a literate pirate, Amos knew kats spent a lot on making books and scrolls so they'd probably help fetch him some gold, plus Lye was cute so he helped out... It was only after he learned why the head Librarian loved the knowledge so much, it was Lye herself. A magically formed kat built from all the knowledge and spells the scrolls they saved made flesh and if someone were to lose the information within the Library, she would be nothing more than a husk. So not only did Amos keep the scrolls and books safe for her, he never sold any either and will occasionally still visit her with new books and such to learn from ^^
