This is one of the Sons of The Blacksands, a Nomadic tribe folk who wander through the deserts of Purrisa, supposedly looking for the Blacksands thought lost eons before, it was their ancestral home and where magic exists in its purest form where all can exist as equals sharing in the bounty of it. However as is often the way with mortals, some always spoils it for everyone else. Wanting to have more than their fellow kat, they melted the magic sand into soul traps, the act of lampmaking and the forging of genies. The magic of the sands then besmirched, started to drain away and cast the tribes out of its protection.
Some tribes seek to survive in this world even if it means taking part in the act of lampmaking for others despite it being the very thing that cast them out of paradise but these are the outliers as most use their magic to seek redemption, tracking down every lamp to free the souls enslaved so that one day they could once again rest upon the Blacksands.

A genie is a big part of Amos' eventual lore so it hit me that it's rarely covered where Genies come from and I had made a passing reference to "the Sons of the Blacksands" as a random throw away line of magic users so I figured it'd be a neat way to tie things in with them as the name sounded cool ^^ They probably look better coloured, black robes and gold eyemasks and such but I am flagging as it is... Tomorrow's isn't gonna be one for the highlight reel.
