As such he and his wife, Felicity, were considered high value targets for abduction and ransom, to the point Felicity started to engage in combat training, lifting the heavy money bags to be ready if such a thing were to happen... It did. Not listening to the security advisor escorting them, the pair were taken by pirates during a good will mission overseas only to have the fortune for those pirates to then be set upon by Amos' crew.
While the thought crossed Amos' mind to do exactly what the other pirates were planning, he knew a friend at court would be more useful to him so he graciously took him home, after a spell getting to know him and Felicity as friends of course ^^
Over the years there were favors for favors by the pair and only occasionally did Amos rob from Maurice's treasury, after all it would look suspicious if it was the only one he didn't rob ^^
