My newest costume creation: Static Miku! I wore this to both Miku Expo AND Momocon recently, it went over really well at both events!

I was going for a really cartoony look like in the video, so I made the buttons the way I did instead of using actual buttons, and even added "contour lines" around them and between the colors on the skirt. I even made music note-shaped ponytails, which was a fun challenge.

The top is made of fleece, and has a giant rigid bow tie that stands up nicely thanks to stabilizer inside. The skirt is made of cotton and other stuff I had on hand. The ponytails are yarn-covered foam coated with mod podge and various other substances that hold the yarn down, and each one was attached to a headband with a combination of a nail glued to a washer and some thin wire so they stand up.
