I think this was a pretty big moment within the TF community back in the day. Sunstreaker was the first 'official' gay mech within the comic series, and it was definitely something that was important to a lot of us to see that. We have had plenty of relationships over the years in series and comics, but for them to officially make him gay in the comics was a BIG step, particularly since Transformers is very much a male dominated consumer market, and aimed towards men in general.

So I ended up drawing him (my first attempt at him) back in 2011, where he is flaunting his pride flag. :)
