Here is a doll I have been working on for a while, and now, I got her finally finished. Mame Momoko translate to "Bean/Sprout Momoko". What a cute name in either context.
I repainted her face to resemble the Legend of Zelda's The Wind Waker and the Four Swords art style. Mame Momoko are perfect for emulated that style of Zelda art. I dunno about you, I maybe give or take on LoZ:WW, but I do love the art style. I think it's cute. It reminds of those old Russian cartoons I used to watch when I was little.
I re-rooted Marina's hair with Golden Delicious nylon hair I bought off of Dolly Hair. Re-rooting this doll is a lot easier than I thought, small head and all. I customized an Ariel mini doll mermaid tail to fit Marina (as well as being faithful to the artistic source material). It was tricky at first, but with a smaller needle, it is much more pleasant to work with. I even made her flower hair pin as the final touch.
I hope to work on more mini dolls soon, whether they are Takara child dolls, or Mame Momoko dolls. Gives me variety in working with different doll patterns of many sizes. Wish me luck.
