Virophages are a type of virus that infects other viruses, like the giant Mimivirus, specialized from its very own teeth unlike the usual tongue attack eukaryotic viruses use. They are often found in oceans of arctic climates like the Ross Sea where microbial life is also present here.
These virophages in Feralsoma are based after Guinea pigs, coincidentally our favorite animal as our favorite virus species. This virophage right here is a Sputnik 3 named Sugar, one of the virophage who is a father to a litter of 2 pups, born from a Mimivirus as a viral host. Similar to Coronaviridae in this universe, Sputnik phages are known to have a set of rather 9 rat tails than 3 like a Japanese kitsune.
Their fur is also similar to mostly Sheba Guinea pigs or a mix of Sheba and one other breed.
