I was invited to do the cover of a Howl's Moving Castle fanzine a while back. I have a deep affinity for Studio Ghibli movies, especially in their background art. Kazuo Oga's background painting looks so simple in theory but I've spent countless pieces trying to replicate it with any skill at all and they've all come out pretty over-painted and cluttered. This was one of the first where I think it started to click
