How many usernames have you had? (You don't have to share them!)
5-6! Depends on if they're "main account" usernames or for casual webspots.
StormKyuubi - very first DA account, I loved Naruto at the time (Kyuubi is a main character)
NekoKame- Revised my DA account, got into digital art. Still really liked anime so I picked this one lol
Oliverri- Trans & picking my name. Most people know me by this because I started posting comics under this username
Olibheare- My name but with an e at the end to satisfy a username
Ollieoakie- My casual accounts
What does your current username mean?
It's my name, Olibhéar
What is the first program you used to make digital art?
A CD ROM of Adobe products that contained Photoshop 3.0. Or Painter 2.0 !! I'm really dating myself with this lol
Imagine drawing eevee on this thing.
Where did you first start posting your art?
Deviantart
What is the first piece of media you drew fanart for?
Good chance it was Digimon or Pokemon. But I can concretely say Naruto dominated my sketchbooks when I was really getting into drawing.
Who was your first self-insert/persona/fursona? What did they mean to you?
My first self-insert was probably an Inuyasha sona lol. I couldn't tell you any more than that. She was probably a cat
What phases/styles has your art gone through? (e.g. Did you have an anime era, a cartoon style, a watercolor phase?)
I think I've been anime through and through. Maybe there were some points when I was first on DA that I was leaning more "scene" style semi-realistic? Extremely weird. I'm definitely anime now. As it should be.
What/who do you think has influenced your art style the most?
I feel like this ask gets harder and harder for people who have been online for a long time. There are a bunch of different digital artists I grew up admiring and drawing from, any video game or franchise I really liked became pretty big touchstones. If I'm talking "defined how I see stylized anatomy" it was probably Naruto.
What/who inspired you to be an artist?
I don't think any one person in particular inspired me. I just really enjoyed the process of telling stories when I was younger and continued to pursue it after seeing so many like-minded individuals on Tumblr. Maybe my friends growing up that would playground rp warrior cats with me
What tools are integral to your current workflow? (e.g. Programs, brushes, references.)
I use Photoshop 2021 at the moment and want it to blow up. I purchased CSP a million years ago and have tried valiantly to make it my main drawing program but it's very different from a PS workflow and frustrates me (and then I give up). I use a lot of historical references that I find on Pinterest. I also have an enormous personal screenshot library I've curated of hands in motion and people's posing.
What steps would you like to take in the future?
My commissions have been dominating my life for the past 2 years after I graduated. I plan to revise them so that I can have a comfortable amount of money and not do nearly the titanic amount of work I have been because I'm really burnt out and unhappy. I currently have the art student curse where nothing I draw feels finished or justified. So I need to get that out of my system. I plan to do it by making another Pokemon comic in EXTREME short form (I emphasize this for MYSELF).
I also need to figure out how to handle rendering in my style lol.
