I am a largely self taught creative artist. I say largely as the only art education I have had was in secondary education and a one year art course at college. . Which if anything taught me a dislike of formalised art classes.
Media wise I work largely with acrylics and oils, though the latter does require a bit more space and fresh air to work in. I also like playing around with pastels/charcoal and have previously worked with collage and like using recycled and otherwise reused/ recycled materials where I can.
Inspiration comes from a myriad of different sources: Spirituality, religion, sex workers and the environment to name but a few. More recently it has been National Socialist (Nazi) ideology and symbolism, being drawn to the cinematography of Leni Riefenstahl and the Nazi hierarchy generally. It probably stems from my enduring love for history more than much else. Previously I have also trawled through the actress's of The Golden Age of Hollywood. Velma from Scooby Doo has also become a subject of attention.
What else? Well you had better ask me.
I think I will be ditching one of my modes of income/ employment. To be honest I earn more gardening and prefer the fresh air and bird sing to people who go on about conspiracy theories and other low level stuff. plus the way they go on about the past without appreciating what they have in the NOW. Work aside I have ben writing, not just blogging which has fallen to the side but serious proper hard core writing. Setting myself a goal of two thousand words a day, just like the creator of James Bond Ian Fleming who did exactly that. Anything else is of course just a bonus and gives me a well deserved pat on the back when I hit the mark. What else is there? Oh grief I have not touched weed in seven or eight weeks now or anything else for that matter. I do not know if it is doing me any good but it is certainly not doing any harm either.
I will write more on the writing at a later time and may get round to posting some new art work on here as and when I can
A predictably boring title for this post and a couple of questions to go alongside. Am I right in thinking sheezy is mainly digital, fan art and furry stuff. (Whatever that is) I see precious little in terms of traditional, naive and or other styles that have not involved the use of a computer apart from to crop and edit. Please tell me and point out my ignorance so I can become enlightened on this little matter. In the meantime I am reading the rules and will try not to post too much NSFW stuff here.
So with the upmost realisation, not doing anything will get me nowhere, I started looking further afield. ignoring the usual spaces like IG and FB I came across here and it seems as good a place as anywhere to work from. The reviews are pretty good and it has a wide audience.
i don't know how much I will write here in the long run, I have other places for that. However I do wish to showcase a broad spectrum of my creative output and that requires sifting through, picking, choosing, editing and labelling.
It may take a little while.
