I'm still making art, but my upload progress will be much slower due to recent employment.
I grabbed a species concept a little while back and now I'm messing around with the base and brainstorming some looooore. Dunno when it'll be finished but I hope it works out well--kinda intimidating to imitate lineart styles of much better artists so the added features dont look terrible. Just another nice challenge though!
I'm very happy with how this came out. Now I have a character and something to bling out later. In terms of artistic skill, I have a long way to go, but this took me well over 12 hours to do so I'd say this is an accomplishment for someone of my typical attention span and caliber.
One step at a time.
I had a cold brew and three deep-fried oreas about six hours ago, and I'm still awake at 4am because of that. Most of my energy was poured into finishing Experiment #002 and starting/completing the sketch of what will hopefully be my OC-for-this-site-slash-page-doll (since everyone seems to have a page doll and I feel left out). Took about... four of the six (going on seven) hours I've been awake.
I don't yet know if this will be my style, so we'll see. It can always change, I know there's no rule about keeping your style until the end of time, so that's nice. Maybe I'll be cool someday, like all the big kids with the big, fancy art-pants and big stylus mustaches of which they twirl and magically produce insanely good pieces.
This is a test journal post and a semi-update.
It feels nice to try the art thing again in a newer site. Let's see how long my consistency lasts. For now, anyone that hangs around here will have to endure sketch lines and novice digital painting skills. Not a clue how often I'll upload but it'll be anything from a nice product to barely recognizable practice sketches from my anatomy studies. I'm also excited to mess around with the bases I've collected. What better way to play around with colors and patterns than with pretty lineart donated by talented and hardworking artists. Maybe I'll sell some if they come out nicely enough.
