it's him... ashfur is one of my favorite warrior cats (tho squirrelstar is my #1 favorite, don't get it twisted haha) but i've always had so much trouble coming up with a solid design for him. even when i would think i had it down, i would soon become unhappy with it. so, i decided to take some time to refine a design for him as much as i could until i was pleased with it.

i knew what i DIDN'T want, and it was easy to not do those things, but i had a hard time deciding what i DID want. in the end, i tried to focus on my shape language more than anything, which started to give me results.

his markings were a lot more difficult and honestly i still might even change them in the future, but this is definitely closer than i've ever gotten before! i'm perfectly happy with them for now. some of you might recognize this design from a piece i did a few months ago too hehe*

also, i didn't forget about his ear being torn. i just want to decide for certain which ear i want squirrelstar to have torn before i decide that for him, because i want them to kinda be opposites. i'll do more art of him when i've decided on that!
