Lila and her kind have the ability to take on more complex forms as needed. The more complex their makeup, the more RAM it uses, so they don't stay in that form indefinitely and will eventually return to base form to free up resources.
This is Lila's pixie form, and she uses it to do more dextrous tasks around her home like gardening, creating things, maintenance, etc. She can fly in this form as well, but not very far or for very long.
