Quetzalcoatlus Northropi has gained fame as a candidate for the largest flying animal ever discovered, though estimated its size has been difficult due to the fragmentary nature of the only known specimen.

Quetzalcoatlus Northropi is a large Azhdarchid pterosaur from the Late Cretaceous from North America (Javelina Formation) that now lives in Temperate Forests, Palustrine Wetlands, Montane, Mediterranean Scrublands and Boreal Forests.
