i really wanted to design them with more inspo from g3 ponies! luna is inspired by silver glow, and celestia is inspired by brights brightly and morning monarch! i've done many redesigns of these two in the past and was never satisfied, because they were never much different from their canon designs. now i feel like they are true redesigns and i love how they turned out :]
the yellow marking on celestia's back is supposed to look like butterfly wings! im sure the marking was much more visible before she was an alicorn.

i don't think i'll be able to do art like this again any time soon, this was drawn on my screen tablet and it hurts a lot to hold a pen.
