Since Chapter 10 and 11 of the mange dropped last year (!), I liked to passively think that after Ivy gets arrested for attacking Brodia's capital, a commoner there at the time takes pity on her and visits her in prison for awhile... I picked a name, but just dropped the concept. Then playing Xenoblade 2 in the summer and seeing the random NPCs in Mor Ardain complaining about the state of things made me realize there weren't any Brodian or Elusian NPCs you could talk to?! Well, that's a gap I should get to filling! Especially when Brodians are the Ardanians of the Fire Emblem world (kind of) (somewhat) (circumstances were different but the result was similar enough)

Beryl's details flopped around for awhile, but I've settled on this now: Beryl's career is a jeweler, her parents are a blacksmith and seamstress. (She was going to be a miner but I made her too pretty for that lol...) They're both young when they had her, but I'm under the impression the QoL in Brodia is pretty decent so that's not a death sentence. When Beryl became an adult, her parents moved to the border near Firene to get away from the warzone chaos, while she moved to Brodia's capital for shopkeeping. She is still prone to closing up shop to visit Firene and plans to move there, since it's lonely up in the capital city.

Despite being a commoner, she tries to not "show it" and integrate with the city population by acting more proper, but easily slips up and is prone to occasional rough language or making ignorant comments. She is 5'3 and doesn't have a set age besides 5 years older.
