I finally got out of bed after sleeping for approx 12 hours lol. I realize I probably shot myself in the foot for posting this here, but I don't use Twitter anymore and only pop into Bsky rarely because it makes me sad. I guess I'll start using a bit now. (C&P from Dreamwidth with some edits)

[Day one]
I am ironically tired despite drinking two Monsters. Condensed version:

• I regret not bringing more toys and enamel pins to trade with others. Def doing that tomorrow.
• I am bringing my itabag tomorrow since I saw others do it.
• This hotel is NOT the same as the old one from a decade ago. This is huge and I got lost, but I have it now.
• I traded my Birdo plush for a petpet!
• Artist's alley and Dealer's den was a nightmare when it first opens, jfc.
• When exiting the claustrophobic dealer's den I was stopped by two very nice people who noticed my petpet and gave me a Neopets veteran button, we were going to go to the animatronic panel after but I appeared to have lost them after :( I did add one on Neopets, I'll probably send feelers out on Discord/FA over it. Got their TG the next day!
• Went to a life advice panel run by a 40yo and it was... kinda weird? The guy kind of rambled and shared a story about how his father died from developing dementia and was perfectly physically healthy but (I quote) "had the brain of a 2 year old". Really fucking terrifying, he tried to be in assisted living until they said they couldn't do that(?), then he was in independent living and he watched him, and the dude died from going on a walk, didn't come back... Until they found his body and he hit his head on a tree. Awful!!! Also the assisted living facility had a fucking alligator on the property and he did the opposite of what he was told to. Yeah the financial and relationship advice was cut short due to this crazy story lol
• I played the demo of a game in progress that's pretty promising, I forgot the name but I joined the Discord for it.
• Bought a Kyell Gold book that was signed , I technically read but didn't finish it so I have no excuse to now.
• I bought a gacha adoptable lol??? I'll grab a digital image when I'm home but it was shockingly my aesthetic.
• Before I left I was at a Pepper Coyote concert, I had to leave before it ended but I had to stop myself from crying during one song... I know....

[Day two]
Don't have much to say this time. My household shares a car so I took an Uber to the city, it was expensive but the interstate was less busy at late morning/early noon so it was slightly cheaper. (Meaning... $18 instead of $25 lol.)
I utilized the trading post and I'm glad I brought stuff with me, I have more stuff "offloaded" from me in exchange for smaller things. Not really any interesting panels this time around, I missed the AD Pepper Coyote concert because I had to leave after 8.

Unfortunately, I gotta say... most money I spent was on food. And it was overpriced average shit. Advice for next time: Pack a lunch. They charge $6 for a slice of pizza and $4 for a cookie and small bag of chips. Awful. I also got two t-shirts. And I ran back into the people I met yesterday!!! Got their Telegrams.

Outside of working, most socialization I do is online... This really made me rethink social dynamics and how things really are. I have to think more about this. I am also slightly screwed by not really using most social media. Not coming back to Twitter, left Instagram due to Meta, and a few Bsky accounts I searched were inactive. Sigh. I wish I milked the old days more. When I went to a con in 2011 some people still used Livejournal.

Another thing there were flyers for a Littlest Pet Shop themed meet at a mall. It's free minus $10 to paint a custom. The drawback is it's 40 miles away :(
I miss the city a lot. I moved out of it 20 years ago, but I can't come back because it's expensive as fuck to live in. There's so much interesting stuff to visit, the stars just gotta align to where I have enough money on me and I can go. I mean my sister told me there's a bus station outside of work? It isn't close but I can still walk there, I walked 4 miles on foot once years ago. lol.
