🔪 During a few of his early years, Ravyn temporarily had to take over the ruler position of the Vampire Kingdom, as Lucifer was not yet old enough to legally take the throne. His mother and stepfather were both recovering from severe physical injuries that would take years to heal fully.
The reason it had to be Ravyn was because Blair had been disowned long ago, and Silver had no interest in ruling. In fact, she likely would have thrown away her royal title long before then if given the chance. Because of this, Ravyn agreed to rule the kingdom until Lucifer came of age and could officially take over.
During his time as ruler, Ravyn was heavily focused on the military, but he still cared deeply about keeping his people happy. You could always tell he was more battle-oriented than most rulers due to the fact that he wore armor at all times, even while performing royal duties.
Despite this, he became the second most beloved ruler in the kingdom’s history, only surpassed by Lucifer himself once he eventually took the throne. Which is honestly pretty ironic, considering Ravyn was still at the height of his alcohol problem during this period.
As for the artwork itself:
It depicts the moment Ravyn is crowned Queen of the Vampire Kingdom and receives his personally forged royal weapon, a tradition that every ruler of the kingdom undergoes upon taking the throne.
Ravyn still owns this very weapon tho only has it displayed and doesn't use it 🔪
