This is the aftermath of the event that ultimately shaped Null into who she is today.
Like Selene, Null accidentally destroyed an entire town when her magic imploded, causing immense death and destruction. However, unlike Selene, Null lost everyone. She had no remaining support system, no friends, no family, and nobody left to help her through what happened.
Without anyone to lean on, she spiraled and became the person she is now. In contrast, Selene still had people who cared about her and supported her after her own tragedy, giving her the chance to heal and eventually overcome it.
Null never had that chance.
