I drew this at the onset of my discovery of city pop, and just kinda vibed with the drawing while listening to the music. I always look back on this one pretty fondly. It was also when I was using a fashion magazine for pose and outfit reference, and I honestly couldn't tell you what magazine it was or where I even got it.
Original description:
Hattie is such a fun subject for doing experimental stuff. I am trying really hard to get my art confidence back in just doing whatever I feel like doing and having fun drawing, not worrying about what people have been doing with art or what they say, what’s been popular, or even thinking about posting it later. Being less obsessive about my technical skill and perfection. And this was a result of that train of thought, which I’m really happy with. I’m gonna move forward with this attitude because art has been a gigantic source of grief for me for years, and I’d like to love it again.
Fun fact is that this pose was actually referenced from a big fashion magazine I found in my attic. And rakubaku helped me pick the background because I was indecisive so big thanks to her!
