*Susk by nature inhabit the higher planes of existence because their true forms are too eldritch for lower planes to handle. When they travel through space they remian "cloaked" and continue to inhabit higher planes of existence. Rekn's Susk, like many others who choose to bind themselves to a planet/area of space adopted a zero interference rule. They swear to not exit the higher planes and enter the physical/mortal plane because doing so would be catastrophic. The mortal plane cannot handle the sheer presence of a Susk's true form. Space and time become frayed and begin to fall apart. Magic energy floods the area and causes an assortment of bizarre effects depending upon the Susk's latent magical properties.
Akieve, several millennia ago, broke the zero interference rule to attempt to end a plague. Their entrance into the physical plane was devastating - spacetime in the locale was shattered and is still abnormal to this day - and forced Asurae to intervene.
Akieve was cast out of the higher plane by Asurae as punishment, with all healing magic being taken with them and disappearing from Rekn as a whole. Akieve's body fell to the mortal plane near Rekn's south pole, flooding the area with their healing magic and producing a space where death ceased to exist. This area, the Healscar, is a sacred place to Southern Distants who make pilgrimages to the remains of Akieve's body. Manafolk know this area by a different name: Akieve's Fall.
To the modern day Akieve is alive and fully conscious despite their bindings; a Susk can never die. The Southern Distants who travel to their fallen body claim they can hear words in their minds when close...*
