Sotalia found herself asking why she took this job in the first place. It was boring, soulless work - managing transactions, monitoring the flow of cash - and for what? A chance at a better position? A way to be productive? The possibility of getting to know her boss better, on a more personal level? ...No, not the last one. Certainly not. She sighed and rummaged around in her desk drawer, pulling out a small crystalline object.

Dolphins on a distant shore, she thought to herself. Supposedly it was a scene that her parent Nomads greatly treasured, one whose beauty inspired them to give life to Sotalia herself. The gem in her hands wasn't her original trinket - simply a replica - but it carried with it the same meaning. Its pale orange light lit up Sotalia's otherwise drab, cold office. In the moment she could imagine it so clearly: fading light cast across the water, a sky painted with soft clouds, the shapes of dolphins leaping among the waves. A place she was determined to eventually find herself.

I don't want to let your love go to waste. I wouldn't be here otherwise.

Sotalia is a young Neb who has found herself working in a job she doesn't at all enjoy as a result of unfortunate circumstances in her younger years. She often finds herself struggling to find a reason to keep going with her work at all, but the memories from her Birth Trinket put her at ease during her loneliest times. Even if she can't see the dolphins alongside her parents, she still wishes to seek out that beautiful scenery for herself.
