My name is RezDragon. I've been making works for the internet since 2007, originally known as RyeDragon.
I started out on Youtube making sprite animations, AMVs, and video game machinima until landing into Super Smash Bros Machinima in 2008. I did that until 2013, and have returned to it off and on over the years. I still do it sometimes, but pretty rarely, however its effects on me still linger. In Smash Machinima, creators would make themselves custom textures/skins on characters to represent themselves and that's why a red Joker is still my persona. He is my gender, I can't shake him. I still operate the same Youtube channel I started with, which I use now-a-days to post short films, my full albums, and other random crap that I edit together. I fell out of doing art for a few years in the 2010's, but roared in the 2020's by returning to it at near full time.

I have been making art for as long as I can remember. While I don't draw in the traditional sense as much as I used to, I still do visual arts from time to time in Photoshop with the aid of 3D models leftover from my machinima days, primarily Joker. These models are heavily painted over and manipulated to appear less like 3D art and more like a digital painting and I'm using the model as a base. I also make high contrast "vector" art pieces too. These pieces are actually drawn in Photoshop, but are made entirely with the selection tool. They're meant to be jagged, uneven, imperfect reflections of my current mood. I've been doing photomanipulation and graphic design for 14 years now (off and on, life gets in the way) and I am entirely self taught.

Recently, I've gotten into making music, concept albums, and sound design, which is a craft I am really trying to hone as my main medium as I am a huge nerd about sound. Again, entirely self taught, I'm having fun, and I'm still learning! Before you go jumping into my music, just be aware that about 90% of it is dark ambience or some flavor of horror. I also sometimes make harsh noise tracks; these are incredibly loud and unpleasant to some groups. I love ambient, experimental, emotional driven music, like a lot, so of course that's the kind of music I'm making. By the way, all of my music is free to download and listen to (except for my audio drama, more about that in a bit). It's "pay what you want" and that price can be zero.

As well as being an artist my whole life, I have also been a storyteller my whole life. I love telling stories, making characters, and sharing those characters and stories. I've had many, many, many stories over the years, but I've managed to narrow it down to one I am extremely passionate about and that's The Disaster Archives. TDA follows a person named Rez Addison (she stole my name, it's complicated) trying to find her place in the world. It's a psychological story, focusing on Rez's emotions, how she handles situations, how she fucks them up, and how she copes with the cruel world she lives in. It's an audio drama, and you can listen to the first episode on my bandcamp (for free, it costs money to download it). I also made an entire journal to intro TDA to newcomers.

Now, here's the disclaimer about myself and my works.
I do consider myself a horror artist, but I'd describe my works as more "emotional horror." A lot of my work focuses on emotions, mainly depression and the thoughts that come with it. Nothing is off the table here. I am a sufferer of many mental health disorders, and I use my art to cope with those various disorders. I describe a lot of my art as just simply "vent art." Please do not concern yourself with my state of being; at this point in my life I have a good grip of most of my mental health, what to expect, and where to go if things get bad, and my art is usually the byproduct of a depressive episode. I'll be fine! Promise! If I start posting scribbly things that are vague shapes in black and red, that's when you can get worried, but please do not feel like you need to be responsible for my mental health. You don't!

I try my best to tag my work accordingly for sensitive groups but not always. And that doesn't mean I'm going to expose you to a violent, graphic image, no, I'm not that kind of person. This mostly applies to my music and films. I will not always warn you of certain triggers in my music and films. I will cover any major ones, like suicide or major gore, but not what I consider minor ones, like death and minor gore. I have a reason for doing this. I feel the impact that my work can and will achieve will be lessened if I warn you about some of the emotions/events ahead of time. Some of my work depends on the shock value, and if it does, I might give you a hint that something unsettling happens, but not always. And sometimes I just plain forget to warn you ahead of time for any topic. It's been known to happen.
I want you to understand that I completely 100% understand people who need those warnings. I just don't want those warnings to either spoil or deter people from experiencing my work as I fully intended it to be perceived. I want it to shock you, I want it to upset you, to make you uncomfortable, to make you cry. If you think you can handle that, then by all means, stick around and enjoy! If you don't think you can handle that, then I have warned you ahead of time where the door is. While I want it to be uncomfortable, I don't want you to have a panic attack because of it.

Long story short: If you like horror and uncomfortable emotions and don't need warnings, you'll have a good time here. If you don't because those might trigger you, or you absolutely need warnings, I highly suggest you do not continue, as I don't always label everything you might need.

I myself have reclaimed a lot of slurs to refer to myself and my characters as, from insane, to depressive, to queer, to anything else that I don't realize is a slur. I'm pretty old-fashioned; a lot of my own personal style is framed around 80's and 90's punk, industrial, and goth. I also work blue-collar during the day, so I'm pretty gritty. Don't take it personally, I'm just an aggro-gay.
