fig. 2 Portrait of Lady Edelweiss Hennenberg di Ordelaffi and her daughter, Lady Orchidee Ordelaffi. Considered a commemorative portrait; students of necromancy belonging to noble Lafossani families would often sit for paintings depicting them with their guardians before undergoing scarification and taking up individual training under a master necromancer. In some ways a sendoff to the student involved, this is one of few portraits of the Lady Edelweiss painted between the death of her husband and her own passing, and the second-to-last portrait ever painted of her daughter.
