this beast is finally done after over two weeks, and just before art fight! i can safely say that if i wasnt such a slow artist, i probably could have padded this out into 20 pages. but this was long enough as is, and you should NOT expect something of this scale again lmao

the goal of this comic is to spotlight the people who keep palazzo ordelaffi running, using the new hire pomona as a framing device. the turco family is a branch clan of the aristocracy, which uses the young members of its satellite families to keep eyes and ears on their subordinates. pomona is assigned to palazzo ordelaffi to observe la signorina orchidee, who has recently been retrieved from the deerwood and is struggling to integrate into society... in part due to the creature she brought back with her. im interested in portraying how outside parties view their dynamic, and give depth to what would otherwise be one-note side characters

letta is a cousin of pomona who has been around the block, and is also having fun scaring a sheltered and relatively ignorant pomona. shes supposed to be a peregrine falcon... in the same vague way that pomona is sort of a snowy owl. fun fact: birdfolk in this world are called "feathren" :)
