The AMLS 3A2 Tenodera ("Mantis") is a Neutech-developed fully autonomous, all-terrain multiple-launch missile and air defense system operated by the Theian Military.

SPECS:

  • Crew | NONE - Onboard control system responds to orders passed to it electronically and determines the most effective course of action
  • Powerplant | Self-cooling hydrogen fuel cell-based generator unit (x2) backed by high-voltage graphene battery bank
  • Propulsion and Control | Electric drive motor (x4) and actuator assembly
  • Max speed: 100 Km/h (considerably slower when navigating rough terrain)
  • Operating time | Depends on fuel cell usage; can linger for over a month in low-power state
  • Armament | 8 Intermediate to long-range artillery rockets, 6 air defense missiles, 12 defensive countermeasure pods, 1 twin-barrel 30mm anti-personnel chain gun

Viewed here in an anchored launch configuration. The front and rear tread assemblies articulate such that they rotate downward to form a more traditional tank tread configuration for stable road transit. The middle arms fold inwards and along the sides of the unit when in transit. When the articulating tread units are fully deployed (similar to in the image), the treads themselves can be locked and the drive units used as legs which can be used in more precise movement in rough terrain. The resulting use of all six "arms" for movement in this manner gives the appearance of an insect walking.

The control unit "head" can pivot and rotate to a degree on three axis to allow its sensor arrays to pan and scan the environment. The split launcher units can semi-independently orient and aim themselves, allowing for targeting more than one target at once.

HOLY Hand-designed nightmare, Batman! This thing was a pixel-art pain to do... Bleh
