Locust Borer (Megacyllene robiniae) on Goldenrod
Warren County, Ohio
STATUS: SERIOUS PEST

This insect has single-handedly decimated the black locust tree in large swaths of North America. The tunnels its larvae bore into these trees make them susceptible to the Phellinus robiniae fungus, which then weakens the trees.

Taken with Pixel 6a Camera, 2023
