-Art programs you have but don't use
SAI 2 on my laptop that I don't use to draw anymore! I used SAI for so long though.
-Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
It kind of flips and flops for me but generally facing left
-What ideas come from when you were little
Moody edgy guys I guess lol I've always liked dragons
-Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
Cats. Their muzzles are so hard for me to draw. But once I get in a cat drawing groove I can't go back to other animals T^T
-Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
I post pretty much everything except sketches, I've done some sexy sketches a handful of times.
-Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (e.g. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
101 Dalmatians, I love the xerox era and I think it inspires me more than I realize
-A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
Water colour; it looks so beautiful but I'm just not able to work with the medium. I water down acrylics to get a similar look but it's not the same!
-What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
I believe I wanted to draw every Pokémon by doing one a day but trying to finish a drawing everyday is impossible for me lol
-What are your file name conventions
It's really easy to not name things in procreate lol, but gosh I think in SAI I used random numbers and when I'm saving symbols at work I just smash the keyboard
-Favorite piece of clothing to draw
Hoodies! I like the bunches and the scrunkled hood but it also hides a lot of anatomy!
-Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
I basically can't draw unless I'm listening to something. Music is my favourite because it's what inspires my art but I also listen to podcasts and youtube videos if I'm tired of music.
-Easiest part of body to draw
Torso! The basic shapes are so easy plus the thigh but I lose it on arms omfg
-A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
ummm uhhh idk lady gaga?
-Any favorite motifs
Vent art, freedom, beauty i guess
-Where do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
Legs pulled up on the couch
-Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
When a family or a friend of someone wants a drawing from me. It just puts me off even if they pay I just know it's going to be something I definitely can draw but just won't want to.
-Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
I have a drink around I guess It just depends if i have it?? weird question
-An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken
oh man no clue
the amount of brushes, I've broken a lot of pastels and crayons from shear pressure lol
-Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
I do love drawing natural backgrounds but it's always so daunting and time consuming
-Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
Hands I suppose, they are still so hard but when you get it right /pacha meme
-Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
The super colourful and light anime style art. I'm specifically thinking about pokemon art pieces.
-What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
I should do something huh
I frequently move my wrists around and fingers
-Do you use different layer modes
Definitely
-Do your references include stock images
Yes! I have pose ideas on Pinterest and google stock photos for certain gestures!
-Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
I don't think my art has actually been compared to something before? At least, no one's said anything!
-What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
I quoted a song one time and someone thought i wrote a poem lol
-Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
I don't do warm ups, the sketch itself is kind of a warm up.
-Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
It's been awhile since I graduated college
-Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
I don't think that's possible
-What piece of yours do you think is underrated
Yeesh idk, my fully rendered pieces I thought would get more attention
