Fun mimi!!!! I'm joining in!!! Original by Smobs :)

Answer each question in as much detail as you like. Skip anything you don't know or would prefer not to answer.
How many usernames have you had? (You don't have to share them!)
Probably around 5 or 6. The most recent one being Anxious Creep
What does your current username mean?
It just means that I'm sinister :b I pick a username that is suppose to sort of represent my persona as a whole + my art too. While Anxious Creep represented me as being just a really nervous weirdo, at some point I grew to be a little less anxious and developed a sort of "evil" persona (just in case, I'm not actually evil in real life of course lol), so I decided to rename myself Sinisteryy
What is the first program you used to make digital art?
Uuuhh I guess Fire Alpaca or SAI, it's hard to remember
Where did you first start posting your art?
Well there was a time when I posted a few of my drawings in VK, but where I REALLY started to regularly put out my art work was Amino.
What is the first piece of media you drew fanart for?
No clue honestly :C I have never been much of a fanartist
Who was your first self-insert/persona/fursona? What did they mean to you?
My first fursona was just a tiny fox named FoxRobbery (my english was bad at that time lol, so it sounds kind of non-sensical)
Who is your current self-insert/persona/fursona? How are they different to your first?
I now have a persona called Sinr! Well first of all, the big difference between Sinr and Robbery is that Sinr is a humanoid creature. And while Robbery was a sort of mischievous silly fox, Sinr is more edgy and gloomy in terms of design. Though one thing they both have in common for sure is being tiny.....In fact...almost all my fursonas and personas are tiny, which isn't exactly something I intentionally do, but it is true to the og material since i am very short irl lol
What phases/styles has your art gone through? (e.g. Did you have an anime era, a cartoon style, a watercolour phase?)
Don't mind me explaining all my art phases in wikipedia style
-
TRADITIONAL ERA. (unknown - 2015)
Self-explanitory. I didn't have a tablet and drew only on paper. I mostly drew happy go lucky cartoon animal heroes going on BIG adventures. -
EARLY DIGITAL ERA (2016 - 2017)
This is where I finally got my tablet and began my digital art journey. I mostly drew undertale fanart and more happy go lucky cartoon animal heroes going on big adventures. -
SPACE CARTOON CATS ERA (2017 - 2018)
This is where I gave up drawing cartoon animal heroes and began drawing cartoon cats flying through the space instead. This time with more EDGE in terms of themes -
EDGY SHAPEY ART STYLE ERA (2018 - 2019)
This is where I gave up drawing cartoon cats flying through space and drew edgy killer furries instead. It's also the time where I tried to change my art style. While it was still cartoony, it was also really edgy and shapey in terms of how it looked and plus very dull and dark colors were present in the art works. Pretty sure this is when I also began uploading my art onto Amino. -
GLITTERING FURRIES ERA (2019 - 2020)
While I still drew edgy killer furries at that time period, my art style changed again and it began to look very bright and glittery in terms of colors and effects. The way I drew things also had more volume and realism to it compared to the flatness and edginess of the previous era. This is also where cartoon space cats came back for a brief moment. -
THOSE GRAY DAYS ERA (2020 - 2021)
I'm naming this one after the story that was present in my artwork at that time. This era actually has it's own "mini-eras", because my art style changed a few times during it. This is where my art brought back its edgy gloomy feel to it that explored heavy psychological themes. In the beginning, my art style was really edgy, shapey and dull in terms of colors again, however in the middle of this era, I started to seriously take character design and changed a lot of things. While my style still looked shapey, a new element was introduced to it. A combination of curves and straight lines. So my style began to look more clean and consistent. Then by the end of it, the dull colors were changed onto bright colors and it's also the era where I began to experiment with the art a lot. -
LOST IN DIRTY DREAMS ERA. START OF THE HUMANOID PHASE AND THE DEATH OF FLAT ARTWORK (2022 - to this day)
This era is also named after my story, the one that I'm currently working on. A lot of major changes happened during it as I pretty much gave up drawing furries and now draw mostly humanoid creatures. This is also where my flat-like artwork style pretty much died as I switched to digital painting with a smudgy looking rendering instead. I do still draw flat pieces of course, but it's not really something that people know me for now. Another major thing that changed I guess is in terms of themes this era is less edgy and more silly instead. I do still draw edgy things, but they are edgy in very different way than how it was before.
I probably sound like a total egomaniac in all of these x0x
What/who do you think has influenced your art style the most?
No clue.... not many things inspire me to be honest :C I usually just draw things the way I like it. Though I guess something that I see my cartoon style being influenced by is Nu Pogodi, some illustrations from a random book about Kolobok and also graphic design lessons from college. While my current painting style is most definitely influenced by academic painting lessons from college.
What/who inspired you to be an artist?
Drawing classes that my parents sent me to when I was a kid.
What tools are integral to your current workflow? (e.g. Programs, brushes, references.)
I can't live without the mixer brush in Photoshop at the moment. It's straight up the whole core of my current art style. Another thing that I think is important to note is that 90% of the time I use these brushes for my art : )
What improvements have you made recently?
I wish I knew...to be honest I feel like I have been only degrading in terms of art than improving. My rendering got more clean I guess, but idk. It's probably because I have been under a lot of stress almost daily since graduating from college that has made my art worse
What steps would you like to take in the future?
I wanna experiment with art again and try to go for a more messy art style rather than clean rendering, I also wanna try out doing more semi-realistic art too. I'm finally starting to take care of my mental health, so hopefully my art will improve the way I want it to once my anxiety calms down.
That's all for this mimi i think, I'm tired now oof x0x
