A collaboration piece I did with @purple-blep based on a doodle I did in the back of her sketchbook while she was at work one day. Never really intended to do anything more with it, but she showed it to some friends of ours who liked the design enough to encourage us to refine it a bit in Photoshop. Purp is a much better artist than I am, and without her knowledge of PS I wouldn't have been able to polish this thing up as nicely as this, so I strongly recommend you go check her out!
So the important stuff, I guess:
For context, this picture is in direct relation to the black summer bushfires of 2019 - 2020 that burned over 24,000,000 hectares of land, killed over three billion animals (over 30,000 of which were koalas), killed 33 people (including six Australian firefighters and a further three American aerial firefighters who bravely risked their lives for the safety of others), and destroyed the homes over over 3,000 families across Australia. We happened to be living in Australia in very close proximity to where the fires were at their most violent when this was going on, and it left enough of an impact on me for me to want to draw something relating to it. I dunno. Weird feeling. I don't draw stuff often (see: ever), so this is kind of a new one for me.
I'm by no means a professional artist or anything, but I'd really appreciate feedback on this - It's probably the cleanest thing I've ever produced and it's in relation to a topic I feel quite strongly about so hey. Figured it's worth putting out there.
