Recently, I played and beat Marl Kingdom Chronicles, a collection of the second and third games in the Marl Kingdom/Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure series, and god have I become obsessed with these games. They were made by Nippon Ichi Software before they made the Disgaea series and they kinda share the wacky humor from those games. The Rhapsody series are shojo-like RPGs with quirky characters and musical numbers, and honestly I wish more RPGs were musicals. We originally only got the first game on the PS1 and later a DS port (which is the one I played), but in recent years Nippon Ichi Software has begun re-releasing their older games, which packaging Rhapsody I with their strategy RPG La Pucelle in one package, and later giving us the previously mentioned Marl Kingdom Chronicles with the two games that previously never left Japan: Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess (my personal favorite in the series) and Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom.
The games aren't perfect and do have some flaws, but I don't care. >:U I love this series and I wish more people played it! Sure the dungeons can have confusing maze-like designs and the battles can go from super easy encounters to incredibly difficult bosses, but I can overlook that when the rest of the game is incredibly charming.
Anyways, this is Pekonyan, a minion of the witch Akurjo and a somewhat minor character from the second game who's also the star of one of the chapters in the third game. She's got kind of a star-crossed romance going with Pokonyan, a minion of the rival witch Marjoly. While her chapter in the third game is not my favorite, I'm a big fan of her song: https://youtu.be/F9B4674jXtQ?si=6JEU8yA-OlRNK2H7&t=327 it's so dramatic lol
