¿Soy yo o que hay muy pocos chilenos en este sitio?
Today is my country's independence day, or as we call it here, "Fiestas Patrias" (name also used by one of its neighbors, Peru).
We can't forget that classic day where we eat choripán, sopaipillas, empanadas, and where we drink terremotos (as in the Chilean drink, not as in earthquake, which unfortunately, is what our country is often stereotyped for, much like with Japan and Mexico).
As for Chile, it's the longest country in the Pacific (with its height rivaling that of Brazil, the longest in the Atlantic). One of its cities, Atacama, features the driest desert in the world. It is one of the most developed nations in South America. It brought us iconic cities such as Santiago, Valparaíso, Hanga Roa, Viña del Mar, Puerto Williams, Punta Arenas, and iconic media such as 31 minutos, HolaSoyGerman, El Perro Chocolo, and iconic companies such as Soprole, Cencosud, Falabella and Entel.
We all wish you some Felices Fiestas Patrias!
