Steven Universe is one of my favorite Cartoon Network shows, thanks to the colorful cast, deep themes, and compelling development. This may be controversial to say, but Pink Diamond is my favorite character (next to Garnet), because of her complex character and her arc from an abused Diamond to the rebellion leader who shattered Homeworld's conventions before her first colony (also, she abandoned Spinel BEFORE she became Rose Quartz). The way her existence started off was still a tragedy and this song performed by Miku Hatsune reminded me of her backstory and relationship with her fellow Diamonds.

That became the inspiration behind this piece I made here. Those slivers of light on Pink are meant to symbolize her pain as well as her transformation into Rose Quartz. I think I wanted to emphasize the pressure White placed on her, Blue, and Yellow, and how much pain she went through. I remember being really happy when I completed it for the first time. I hope you guys like it too.
