Hello art friends!!! It's been a little while, but I do have some good news. I completely forgot about my last update, but since then my brother has let me effectively loan his laptop, since he wasn't using it much. Writing still didn't come to me easily due to my funk, but I've finally began writing again!!! One big issue with writing is that it's much more difficult and makes much less sense to post incomplete parts of a story, so I don't know when it'll be ready. I have become a lot more comfortable with the idea of just slowly chipping away at something, so I'll probably just keep working on this until I feel it's worthy enough to land on here and maybe some other places. This'll be my first fully realized story, so I'm really excited, but man is it difficult! 😵 You really do overestimate your abilities to craft a well balanced narrative until you have to do it ALL in full.
I may post some small beta chapters just for fun and general reception to see what adjustments could be made or to peep the general vibe, but I do fear falling into the validation traphole I faced when I first started writing. Even so, I'm super happy with my progress, even if there's nothing to share! I hope y'all are content in your endeavors as well! Until next time... Peace!✌️
Not much to say here. I got back to my room with a strong excitement to write after handling my responsibilities, and my laptop screen wouldn't turn on. I can connect it to an external monitor, but it really does hurt for late night writing when I don't feel like sitting at my desk. Update's will probably be slow until I get this sorted out. It's really blown my mood ngl.
Hope everyone's been well. Not much to share, just been getting everything setup. I hope to have something epic to share soon... I'm not used to being able to write freely again.
Henlo, my funky gay art friends. I return from the nether, hopefully able to supply some epic writings to you all... And reply to that pile of comments I left, lmao. I am in a much better home situation, and life feels worth living again. Hallelujah, and all that jazz. I cannot wait to consume more art...
My final journal for the day before I pass into the nether. You like a piece of art? Comment! You have thoughts you want to share about it? Comment! Did it touch you in any way? Comment!!!
Comments are the driving force behind any social platform, and a compliment can boost any artist's confidence and well-being, big or small, but especially small. It's the best thing you can do for any artist with a small follower count, and even medium sized ones.
It's why I try to leave a comment on any piece that touched or evoked a decent amount of feeling or emotion from me, regardless of how small it is! It's especially important for a platform like Sheezy, where personal connections and networking are far more important.
This isn't Twitter, Tumblr, Bsky, or Insta. Artists are going to get significantly less engagement here than they do on any other platform, and it can be incredibly discouraging. New artists stop posting, or just leave all together.
So we have to flex what unique benefits we have, and that is artist to artist communication! Longer form discussions you can't have on social media! These are the key reasons why it's one of my favorite places to be as a creative. You just can't get this type of discussion anywhere else.
Did I motivate you enough? Good! Now go, my young comment apprentice! Comment on so much art that your fingers start to melt off!
