Rootpaw never asked for the ability to see ghosts -- he was born with the gift. When his family is attacked by a malevolent lost soul, Rootpaw begins to dedicate his life to protecting the innocent and helping the tortured spirits themselves find peace.

This is, of course, the description of Bleach (Anime) filled in with Rootspring's name in place of Ichigo's. 

Basically thought process was Ichigo's design is banger and I wanted to do a WC/cat design inspired by it, and then realized how similar the stories by basic description are.
