This is an idea I've had for a while. With his super-human hearing, most music must sound painful for Piccolo, especially the type that uses a lot of high-pitched instruments in it. Bulma just happens to hear about this and immediately comes up with the ear-plugs. She literally modified those in like an hour because she is a genius and awesome.

Anyway, so for the first time in his life Piccolo can listen to music without getting a headache! Hooray!
Bulma got him whatever is this world's equivalent of Spotify Premium soon after this and Piccolo would spend all his time listening to everything he could. Soon enough he would realize that he can't actually listen to everything that has ever been made, but during his time listening to stuff he finds the genres he most enjoys. He has separate playlists to workouts, training, meditation, cleaning, cooking and relaxing and gets super excited whenever his favorite artists release new songs.

So yeah, if you're wondering how Tora got away with becoming an artists, now you know~
