Well, I have sown untidy furrows across my soul, but I am still a coward
Content to see my garden grow so sweet and full of someone else's flowers

Sometimes you really just have to draw a character sitting surrounded by invasive wetland plants. Which could mean nothing emotionally. Inspired partially by this incredible cover of In California by Joanna Newsom that's been living in my brain for a while.

A dark haired woman with a few ear piercings and disheveled hair sits with a knee tucked to her chest in shallow water, with purple loosestrife thickly growing around her. She wears a damp black camisole and khakis. Her expression is troubled and she holds a flower in one hand to her mouth, the petals falling between her fingers.
