Like so many, Basiliskos expected that he would die in the battle against the Persians and even embraced it. However, in an odd twist of fate he was cursed in a way by a Demon known as Mephistopheles into becoming the first known Ghost Rider as the Demon needed an agent on Earth to do his work and as a means of entertainment.
