This was Fusares before he met Ranu and before his family threw him out.

Even though he got formal attire to match that of all Petalons (floral themed suit/dress), his always was of lower quality than the others and generally less well thought out. In general, he was seen as the black sheep of the family.
While the official reason for him being hated within the family was that he was the ugliest, he hadn't been born with the typical leafy neck that others in his family had, few of the Petalons still thought he was treated far harsher than others considered "ugly" and weren't quite sure why.
They only knew that Lady Lilyenth hated him the most.

This left him with a lot of insecurity about his looks and he generally does believe that he is incredibly ugly (even more so after exile and his wings are torn/he's scarred badly)

As a form of rebellion, he began doing things considered "ugly" within the family, namely working out for muscle-mass and piercing his petals.
Eventually, around his twenty second birthday, he went "missing" and was quickly declared dead by his family, though he of course is still alive, living with Ranu.

He hopes to one day reconnect with his mother, the only person who was there for him. He never got to know his dad.
