The past three weeks have been me getting up, stretching, pouring a cup of coffee, and declaring, "Tis a fine day to make comics that are of interest to only me!"
Then the mucus settles back in, the sinus infection flexes the inside of my skull, and the phlegm returns to the back of my throat, and they all say in unison as if they were the Borg, "Oh, you wanted to stare at a computer monitor for a few hours, y'say? We are currently removing all of the moisture from your eyes as we speak."
Because of the intentionally-caused decrepit state of Canadian healthcare you're basically meant to suffer through a lingering illness like this and self medicate the best you can with OTC meds that don't work very well. Currently I have the luxury to sit around feeling sorry for myself as I wipe snot off my lips and chin. Hooray for early-if-temporary retirement! I can remember the misery of being forced to do badly underpaid labour while sick. Heck, it wasn't that long ago that I was forced to explain gerunds to Asian kids while sick. But at least there I could wear a mask without anyone giving me shit for it.
Maybe people here are cool about masking? From what I read even in Canada there are good odds of some Trumpy conspiracy theory-loving dipshit getting on your back about wearing a mask. Imagine being stuck in our sea of miserable jobs alongside a miserable coworker like that. Ugh. My sympathy for anyone stuck in that.
Anyway, Sheezy needs better ways to add images to journals. Thank you.
