-strong swimmer with a near superhuman ability to hold her breath
-more confident in herself
-not as prone to running off as before, still feels trapped in the human world and her approaching royal responsibilities
-...which does lead to her occasionally prioritizing seeing her mer-friends over her duties
-she hides her feelings and actions a lot of the time still, her parents lying to her is an issue she still hasn't gotten over

blonde boy aka
ada (adagio)
-his nickname's quite feminine, but he never seems to mind
-social and friendly
-sometimes he comes off vain/a bit of an airhead
-visits melody on the shore most often
-develops an interest in various human trinkets, mostly jewelry or anything melody doesn't feel like keeping herself (which is quite a lot)
-lazy

purple tail mermaid aka
cal (calypso)
-most introverted of the group
-close with melody, has a strong desire to help her
-a little afraid of humans and the human world, so she doesn't get to see melody as often as she'd like
-interested in magic, scavenges ursula's and morgana's lairs
-very intelligent but often reckless
-she's not sure how king triton would feel about her actions pursuing magic, and isn't keen to find out....
-...but if there's a way melody could be with them all the time, she'd like to find it

blue tailed boy aka
reed
-arguably the glue holding the group together
-level headed and often the voice of reason
-competitive, enjoys racing with melody
-likes collecting seashells and cool rocks (another hobby shared with melody)
-a bit resentful of other humans due to junk thrown into the sea and shipwrecks destroying ocean floors
-worries a lot about his friends (often for good reason)
