I saw an opportunity to use this drawing as a way to show what I want the series to actually look like, so I used a watercolor brush for the light and shadow for a storybook illustration feel.
Admittedly I'm drifting away from strictly traditional fairy tale fantasy somewhat with this batch of drawings. But glowing mushrooms and mice dressed in old-timey outifts and Scavenger/Clockpunk technology are among my favorite more modern fantasy tropes.
