I can't remember where I first heard of the Moomins, but I've seen them around for several years before I decided to really check them out. I already really liked Sniff's design, and once I started watching the 1990 anime, he immediately became my favorite character. How can you not like an adorable kangaroo-weasel thing with foibles?
(Honestly I don't really get the whole Snufkin thing- he's cool, but is he really worth obsessing over?)

I mostly based him on the anime design (the most appealing to me). There's like three different ways Sniff was drawn in that show, but I mostly stuck to the one that gives him a jawline like Tove did.
