I had a thyroidectomy in 2021. The surgery lasted 11 hours and was very invasive, so the hospital staff gave me loads of painkillers. After I got out of the ICU I hallucinated for the first time. As I was immobile, Charlie was there, in my peripheral vision. He kept scrambling around the room trying to avoid letting me look straight at him, and I knew it was because he realized that I had created him, and if I saw him directly he would go back to being a fictional character. After a few minutes of this he finally disappeared. I never saw him again, but he earned the title of "most fun to hallucinate about" out of the four protagonists.
