She may not look like she'd belong in Spyro's universe, but dinosaurs are definitely a thing in Ripto's home realm. And how often do you see Spyro FCs or OCs that are dinosaurs? Not very often.

Initially, Ellie was going to be a raptor named Estelle. Decided to change her name and entire species because I also wanted her to be Ripto's love interest.
I wanted Ellie's design to be fun and endearing.

I also didn't want her to clash with one of my other characters who happens to be a Utahraptor/Austroraptor. So I flipped the color scheme that her primary colors are red-orange, and yellow-green for the accents. If you couldn't tell, Piñatas and Dorito chips were on my mind whilst I was developing her. Hence why she has the 'fun character design'.
