i consider myself a hobbyist web/graphic designer, which is quite annoying when you really want to put together a profile theme but can't think of anything!! like, i had an aesthetic i really liked for a while (Y2K stuff) but it's not resonating with me at the moment. i need to find something new

suggestions would be appreciated, especially in the form of sample media (websites/screenshots/etc.): things i've been bouncing around my head but am unsure i would call my "aesthetic of the moment":

• vibrant, colorful stuff, from confetti and terrazzo patterns to raves
• generic smiley faces, classic web emoticons and icon sets
• abstract art, "postfurry" (this is currently the biggest thing but its hard to work with)
• futurism, technology, computers, the internet
• vector art, "internet art", hyper-contemporary outsider art, this is hard to describe

meanwhile, i'm also considering making and distributing profile HTML once i can figure out what is going on with that. profiles support inline styling, right?
